In the summer of 2008, Reed Arts began a refurbishing of the front of our building. The project was massive: repair of the stucco-like surface, repainting with bolder and brighter color, a mural feature, a zen “pond,” and the biggest outdoor picture frame you ever saw! Local handyman Gary Harker and his crew took on the repair and paint. National artist and central Ohio resident Greg Ackers painted the mural and created our showpiece: an 18’ x 15’ finished-corner picture frame, carved from 12” square lengths of polystyrene, and painted to mimic a 17th-century Spanish Colonial frame sample designed by San Marcos Frames in Columbia, South America that we have on display in our showroom. The end result is stunning, and is stopping traffic at 909 W. 5th Avenue! You HAVE to stop by and see it for yourself, but here are a few pics to tide you over until your visit!
