Alexis Fisher

"Lexi's Love" was created while Alexis was in the 2nd grade using crayons, watercolor, pencil and textured panels. Alexis is currently in the 5th grade at Worthington Schools in Columbus, Ohio where she hopes to become a better artist and someday teach.

Reed Arts president Tim O'Neill, CPF was struck by this work of art. I think it is a very strong image, much in the same vein of the works of Jim Dine, who used the heart motif repeatedly in his art. I believe the heart is a universal image, and can be much too quickly dismissed as whimsical. The opportunity presented itself to work with Alexis and her family to promote this image, and I thought it was a great chance to not only draw attention to the subject of love, but to the efforts to instill a passion for art in children. Copies of Lexi's Love are available at Reed Arts unframed in 2 sizes: 18x12 for $20 and 36x24 for $50. There are also notecards available for $3.
